How To Format Block Quotes In Google Docs

There are a few different ways to format block quotes in Google Docs. The most common way is to use the > symbol at the beginning of each line:

> This is a block quote.

>

> It is indented and has a line break between each paragraph.

You can also use the > symbol at the beginning of each paragraph, without indenting the whole block:

>This is a block quote.

>

>It is not indented and has a line break between each paragraph.

If you want to format a block quote with a different style, you can use the Google Docs menu:

– Select the text you want to format as a block quote.

-Click Format > Text > Block quote.

Your selected text will now be formatted as a block quote.

You can also use the keyboard shortcut Shift + Alt + 5 to format selected text as a block quote.

One of the most common questions we get from our clients is how to format a block quote in Google Docs. While it’s a pretty simple process, there are a few things you need to keep in mind to make sure your block quote looks its best.

Here are the basic steps:

-Highlight the text you want to include in your block quote.

-Click the “Format” menu and select “Text.”

-In the “Text” menu, select “Indent.”

-In the “Indent” menu, select “First Line.”

-Your selected text will now be indented and ready to be included as a block quote!

Here are a few things to keep in mind when formatting your block quote:

-Be sure to include a parenthetical citation after the block quote. This will give your readers the information they need to find the source you’re quoting.

-If your block quote is more than four lines long, you may want to consider formatting it as a “display block.” To do this, simply select the text and click the “Format” menu. In the “Format” menu, select “Text.” In the “Text” menu, select “Wrap.” In the “Wrap” menu, select “Display.”
